• Formerly Cimicifuga. Fragrant, bottlebrush-like white flowers stand above the gorgeous black-purple foliage in late summer or early fall. Plant in light shade and well-drained evenly moist soil. Plant with with golden hosta or Hakonechloa for a stunning combo! Matures at about 4′ tall  x 2′ wide.

  • Japanese forest grass is one of my all time favorite grasses! This variety is variegated with a golden hue.   • This is one of my all time favorite spring-blooming deciduous shrubs! White flowers (that resemble a lace-cap hydrangea) bloom along the top of the branches in twos, typically in mid-May, followed by red-black fruit. Leaves turn to a deep red in fall. Branching is very horizontal and is wider than tall; about 8' x10' in my garden. Prune to thin and accentuate its horizontal branching habit as needed or after flowering in spring.
