Blue switch grass is a slow-growing, well-behaved, columnar grass. The color is a pale-green to grey-blue. It works well in with shrubs and other perennials toward the back of the border. The blooms dry beautifully and combine well with other dried flowers. It prefers well-drained soil and will do best in full sun. Matures at about 4-5′ tall by about 1-2′ wide. I like to leave mine up for the birds and winter interest and then cut back in early spring.
